6.4/10

My stay at Hotel Bonaventure Montreal was a mix of highs and lows. The location is central, making it easy to explore nearby cafes and shops, but the overall condition of the hotel left much to be desired. The friendly staff and ongoing renovations show promise, but the outdated rooms and cleanliness issues overshadowed the positives.

Rooms
6.0
The room I was in was spacious but felt outdated and poorly maintained, with worn furniture and a general dingy appearance. I also noticed the noises from the heating system were disruptive at night.
Service
7.0
Most of the staff were friendly and helpful, but I encountered some inconsistencies in their training, which resulted in a few frustrating interactions during check-in.
Location
8.0
The hotel is in a great location, close to shops and public transport, making it easy to get to attractions. The quiet street was a nice bonus for relaxing after long days.
Dining
8.0
I opted for breakfast at the hotel and it was pretty good. The breakfast host was particularly friendly, which made for a pleasant start to my day.
Facilities
6.0
While the pool area looked appealing with its garden setting, it was quite crowded and dirty during my visit, which was disappointing. I didn’t find the fitness facilities impressive either.

6.6/10

During my stay at Hotel Bonaventure Montreal, I found the location to be excellent, right in downtown and conveniently across from the train station. The staff was friendly and helpful, which truly enhanced the experience. However, the condition of the facilities left much to be desired; the decor felt a bit dated, and there were issues like chips on the floor that detracted from an otherwise pleasant visit.

Rooms
7.0
My room was spacious and came with a comfortable king-sized bed, but it wasn't spotless as I found some chips on the floor and a contact lens in the bathroom. Overall, it was clean and provided ample space for my belongings.
Service
9.0
The staff were incredibly accommodating and friendly, always ready to assist with my requests. Check-in was smooth, and they made me feel at home, which was greatly appreciated.
Location
9.0
The hotel's location was perfect for me, situated in a central area with easy access to the subway and within walking distance to many attractions in the city, including Old Montreal.
Dining
8.0
I thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast that was included; it was delicious and a great way to start my day. The restaurant staff were also very pleasant and helpful.
Facilities
6.0
While the gym facilities were great and well-equipped, I was disappointed that the pool was closed during my visit. The general upkeep of facilities could be improved, as evidenced by some minor issues in my room.

5.6/10

My experience at Hotel Bonaventure Montreal was a mixed bag. While the location was excellent and central, the facilities left a lot to be desired. The room was comfortable but displayed clear signs of age and neglect, and the overall atmosphere felt more chaotic than relaxing.

Rooms
6.0
I found the room to be comfortable and spacious, but it definitely showed its age. The decor felt worn, and I noticed issues like chipped paint and outdated furniture. The view from my room was also quite disappointing, staring at a neighboring building's roof.
Service
5.0
While some staff members were nice, the service at the front desk was lacking. I felt the staff could use better training in hospitality, especially when I had issues with my room booking.
Location
8.0
On the bright side, the hotel's location is fantastic. It's right in the heart of downtown, making it convenient for accessing many attractions, restaurants, and shops. I enjoyed being close to public transport as well.
Dining
6.0
The dining options were decent, but the breakfast I had was overpriced for what it was. I expected more variety and quality given the price tag.
Facilities
6.0
The rooftop pool was a highlight, but I noticed it was often overcrowded and not as clean as I had hoped. There were also issues with the sauna being closed during my stay, which was disappointing.

I had a good stay at Hotel Bonaventure Montreal. the location was prime, offering easy access to both Old Montreal and the underground city. The staff was consistently friendly and helpful, although the rooms could use some modernization. The heated outdoor pool was definitely a highlight of my visit, providing a unique swimming experience amidst the winter scenery.

The hotel was conveniently situated in downtown Montreal, making it easy to explore major attractions. I loved being able to access the underground city directly from the lobby, especially in the cold weather.

The outdoor heated pool was a fantastic feature, offering stunning views of the city. however, I wish it had later hours for adults to enjoy once families had left.
